JournalTo me, it seems Obama is getting quite a fan wave. Almost of tidal proportions. There's nothing wrong with that, but I will make a point-Obama is an idealist.
Idealists are good for times of peace. The fact is, we have a military situation (it's not officially a war, people) in Iraq. And we need to get out of there.
I support Obama's ideals, I think they're incredibly straight-forward, and he addresses many things that need to be addressed-something that is not quite so common among politicians these days.
Yet they are just ideals. And we need to work on foreign affairs right now, then we can set our sights inward. I support Clinton, because I see her as a get-it-done kind of person. To me, Obama seems much more diplomatic, more of a negotiator. But we need to get out of Iraq. And I don't see Obama as actively debating the issue. I see him as a more passive negotiator.
Clinton, of course, has more experience. With this fact, and the feeling I have of these candidates and how they would operate, I feel it would be a mistake for our nation to take a chance on Obama's ideals. We need someone more down-to-earth right now.
